Our Meal Delivery.
Volunteering at the Love Kitchen isn’t just about serving food at our building, a large part of our service to the community is delivering delicious and tasty meals to the elderly, disabled, and homebound. We are currently distributing almost 3000 meals a week all over the Greater Knox County and surrounding regions.
We have over 30 routes with a handful of stops on each one which usually takes approximately an hour or so to complete. Many of our routes are covered by long-time drivers who have volunteered their time and fuel to ensure some of the most at-risk people in our community are ensured good nutritious meals each week.
Delivery day is every Thursday beginning at 11:30 AM and continuing all day according to each volunteer driver’s needs and preferences. You can choose the time at which you pick up and deliver the meals during that afternoon so it will work around your individual schedule.
Some of our routes are covered by local businesses and organizations with a rotating set of drivers working one particular route each week. This allows them to effectively help the community while providing a convenient opportunity for all of their employees to be able to participate without causing disruptions to ongoing daily business operations.
