Welcome to Our Family
Thank you for your interest in volunteering at The Love Kitchen. Please read the General Guidelines for Volunteering carefully then complete the Volunteer Form below.
If you have not already discussed volunteer service with our Volunteer Coordinator, you will be contacted upon receipt of your Volunteer Application and will be scheduled to serve at The Love Kitchen. While we strive to schedule volunteers for service in their desired areas of interest and/or experience, please be aware that not all opportunities are available every day or during all hours. We appreciate your willingness to be flexible and trust that you’ll find spending your time serving at The Love Kitchen to be valuable and rewarding.
General Guidelines for Volunteering
- Arrive on time for your service.
- Only scheduled volunteers can serve at The Love Kitchen.
No volunteers under the age of 13. Volunteers 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult volunteer who has filled out a separate application. All volunteers under the age of 18 must have their volunteer form signed by their parent or guardian. Volunteers under the age of 18 may not be able to work in all areas of service. Please be aware that heavy cookware, hot equipment and pans, and sharp instruments and appliances are used throughout the kitchen.
Hair that is shoulder-length or longer must be tied back.
Wear clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty (no sleeveless shirts or tank tops).
Wear only closed-toe shoes (no sandals or flip-flops).
All volunteers must sign in and out with name and arrival/departure time. If you are volunteering with an organization, please include name of organization on sign-in sheet. While this may not seem important, accurate tracking of volunteer hours is vital to nonprofit organizations and we appreciate your cooperation.
If you are volunteering with a group, each volunteer must complete page 2 of the Volunteer Application. Volunteers under the age of 18 must have their application signed by a parent or guardian.
Follow health and safety guidelines for handling and preparation of food.
- Upon arrival, please check in with the front office receptionist. They will give you any instructions for the day and answer any questions you may have.
For those volunteers who drive as part of their volunteer service, please bring your current Tennessee driver’s license and vehicle insurance information.
At the beginning of each calendar year, volunteers will be asked to update their Volunteer Applications.
While serving at The Love Kitchen, be positive, smile, laugh, and have fun!
